Measure your Footprint, Change your Impact
Discover your environmental impact and learn how to reduce it! In this activity, you will measure your personal carbon footprint, identify the areas where you generate the most emissions, and learn simple actions to reduce them. This way, you will contribute to caring for the planet in a conscious and sustainable way.
Plastic Prevention
Explore the mysterious world of the deep sea and its surprising connection to human actions on land, especially plastic pollution. After learning how plastic impacts even the deepest parts of our Ocean, your challenge will be to design a solution that prevents plastic from entering the Ocean in the first place. Whether it is a new material, a collection device, or a policy idea, we want to see your designs and your creativity in action.
The Water Quiz
Ocean Academy: Plastic Pollution Series
Why should we care about the ocean? Because every person on the planet relies on it. We all need water to survive, and all water originates from the ocean. The ocean’s health is critical to the balance and well-being of our planet. Without it, most life on Earth would cease to exist.
These films are an introduction to the Ocean Discovery Day challenges - a set of workshops that enable teams to take on a meaningful challenge in order to become more plastic-intelligent as individuals and as a community.
YUNGA Climate Challenge
Want to know what climate change is all about and how you can help? Jump into this fun, hands-on activity where you’ll experiment with the greenhouse effect, commit to taking steps for the planet, and even step into a climate scientist’s shoes to advance climate research! This is your chance to join the Youth and United Nations Global Alliance (YUNGA) and become a changemaker in your community!
Get to know the components of a photovoltaic solar system
Have you ever seen a solar panel? Probably yes. But do you know what other components are needed, as well, to build up a complete solar system? Try out this matching activity and you will find out how they are called and what their function is. Are you ready to go solar? Then let's go!

Become a young food hero!
This activity is designed for young people who want to learn where their food comes from and how much effort goes into producing it.
Food grows in gardens and forests. It is fished from oceans and rivers. It is hunted or gathered from the land. But most of our food comes from farms. Sometimes these are small family-run farms or community gardens, and sometimes they are large commercial farms that stretch as far as the eye can see.
It takes land, good soil, the right weather, skills, labor, money, and resources to produce the food we eat. To better understand the effort behind every meal, let’s try to grow our own food.
These activities are available in English, Spanish, and Mayan.!
Unlock Your Superpower
Discover your values and skills and how they can become your superpower for the Ocean! Sometimes, it can be difficult to figure out what we can do to look after our Ocean, but this activity will allow you to explore what you are passionate about and what you are good at, and show how the two can combine to create your superpower for the Ocean.
